Hi! My name is Sarafina and I live in North Central Pennsylvania, USA.

I’m a lifelong artist and a mushroom hunter for the past 20 years.

I forage for both edible and medicinal fungi.

For a few years I was kind of depressed and wasn’t doing any art for myself.

I knew I needed to do something big so in October 2023 I decided to combine my art with my love of mushrooms and create an illustrated mushroom guidebook. I really had no idea what I was getting into, but, my plan is to do my favorite 20 common mushrooms that will be perfect for beginners - 17 edible mushrooms and 3 medicinal mushrooms. The book will be half guidebook and half showcase of the beauty of these mushrooms.

I’m a freelance artist but since I’m devoting all of my time to creating this book, I am selling my illustrations on t-shirts, prints, stickers as well as other mushroom products to finance my journey.
